Stanford Medicine ID Badge & Building Access

All Biosciences students must obtain both a Stanford Student ID Card and Stanford Medicine ID Badge.

Please see instructions below. If you have specific questions or concerns after reviewing this information, please contact the Office of Graduate Education (oge-helpme@stanford.edu).

Stanford Medicine ID Badge

All Biosciences students are required to carry a Stanford Medicine ID while at the School of Medicine Campus, Stanford Hospital & Clinics and Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital. New MS & PhD students will receive a badge as part of the orientation process – please see your orientation emails for further instructions.

Biosciences students’ Stanford Hospital badge is also used to access School of Medicine buildings including the Li Ka Shing Center (LKSC). This badge is for your own use and is not to be loaned or passed to anyone at any time. In order to receive your badge and the access it grants you, you are required to fill out a fitness center waiver form and a space usage agreement.

The Office of Graduate Education manages general student badge access including student only access to the fourth floor of LKSC. For badge access to other buildings and labs at the School of Medicine, inquire with your department or building manager or email dl-securityservicesaccessoffice@stanfordhealthcare.org so that you can be connected with the authorized access approver.

LKSC 4th Floor Access

The fourth floor of the Li Ka Shing Center (LKSC) is open only to School of Medicine and Biosciences graduate and medical students, including students in all of the Biosciences programs. This exclusive student center features a fitness center, entertainment lounge, kitchen, study and meeting rooms, computers and printers, and a quiet/meditation room.

Fitness Center Rules and Waiver Form

LKSC’s Fitness Center is a 24-hour badge access facility. All users are required to complete the LKSC Fitness Center Waiver Form in order to receive access to the facility. You can use the badge request form to complete the waiver and receive access. All users of the space, must adhere to the following guidelines:

Stanford Medicine ID Office

The Stanford Medicine Security Office/Photo ID Office is located on ground/lower level in room 030K of the Stanford Hospital at 500 Pasteur Drive. The closest entrance is through the staff parking garage off of Pasteur Drive. If at any time you have a question about your badge access, you’ve lost a badge or if your badge is not working properly, reach out to at dl-securityservicesaccessoffice@stanfordhealthcare.org.

Stanford University Student ID Card

All graduate students must also obtain a Stanford ID card. Please note this is a different process, managed by a separate office, from the Stanford Medicine ID process.

You may upload a photo as soon as your SUNet ID and password are set up. The online process is convenient and your card will be waiting for you when you arrive on campus.
